Traders, wholesalers, distributors, and dealers register on the Government e-Marketplace as Resellers. Resellers sell branded products or generic items manufactured by OEMs to government departments.
This guide explains how traders can register and pair their catalogs.

The Reseller Onboarding Process
Step 1: Initial Account Registration
Create your primary seller account on the GeM portal. Select your business type (Proprietorship, Partnership, Company) and verify your profile details.
Step 2: Catalog Listing Options
As a reseller, you have two options to list products:
- Generic Listing: Sell unbranded goods that do not require brand authorization.
- Branded Listing: Sell products under an OEM brand. You must request a Brand Link Authorization Code from the manufacturer to pair with their catalog.
Step 3: Product Verification Uploads
Ensure your pricing does not exceed the Maximum Retail Price (MRP). Upload proof of purchase, invoices, or OEM authorization letters to verify supply source compliance.
Key Rules for Traders
- Skip Vendor Assessment: Resellers are exempt from the ₹11,200 QCI vendor assessment required of manufacturers.
- Verify Brand Authorization Codes: Always coordinate with your OEM partner to receive the brand link authorization code before listing.
