Buyer Categories on GeM
Government buyers on the portal are grouped into:
- Central Ministries: e.g. Ministry of Communications, Ministry of Defence.
- State Departments: Local state-level administrative bodies.
- Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs): Government-owned enterprises.
- Autonomous Bodies: State-run schools, councils, and research centers.
How to Search by Ministry
- On the bids page, select the Ministry/Department filter dropdown.
- Input the target ministry name.
- The dashboard will reload to display only bids published by that ministry.
